Summary:

The following questions are addressed in this research, in relation to the crown fire: (a) To quantify fuel complex, characteristic of pine forests, (b) To evaluate the effectiveness over time of preventive treatments to reduce the chances of start and spread of crown fire; (c) To assess the possible effects that limit the effectiveness of the treatments; (d) To contribute to the validation and tested of available models for predicting the fire behavior of crown fire; (e) To develop a socio-economic assessment of the environmental impact of this type of fire.
