URGENT ACTIONS AGAINST THE EROSION ON BURNED FORESTED AREAS

Fires are one of the most frequent and important disruptions that Galician forest ecosystem are facing. In order to limit those risks, developing a contingency plan supported by a range of actions after fires is required.

This study is divided in 2 parts. The first part introduces the characteristics of the erosive-hydrological risks following the fires in Galicia and shows the temporal context where the emergency activities following the fires are implemented, as well as the general conditions which affect the planning. Finally, key points to take account on this task are noted. The second part develops a guide to plan and implement the urgent treatments of limitation of erosive-hydrological risks.
