Resumo
The main objective of the project was to study the adaptation of the Galician pine population in the country, against the late frosts of spring and early frosts of autumn. The specific objectives were:
- To set up the techniques of cold resistance under controlled conditions and compare different methods of evaluation of damage (visual, relative fluorimety and relative conductivity), as well as various damaged organs of the plant (needles, stem and bud).
- To study the genetic variability between and within populations of maritime pine belonging to the whole distribution range of the specie.
- To study the genetic variability of the Galician population.
