Summary: The accumulation of plant biomass under power lines can become a risk factor during the high fire season. For this reason, proper management of vegetation in these areas is key to prevention, preventing uncontrolled growth of flora from becoming combustible material that favors the spread of fire. In this sense, the agreement will allow to test innovative solutions that minimize the need for frequent mechanical interventions, thus reducing the environmental impact and improving the efficiency of maintenance work. 

Objective: The planned field trials will evaluate different methods to control vegetation growth, such as the use of vegetable mulch and sheep wool, the installation of biodegradable meshes or the introduction of low-growing plant species as natural cover. In addition, the effects of these practices on biodiversity, soil quality and erosion prevention will be analysed.. This collaboration will allow the definition of effective protocols that can be applied in other areas with similar characteristics, improving compatibility between vegetation management, safety of electrical infrastructures and environmental conservation.
